Bill Evans has over 35 years’ experience advising clients in criminal appeal cases. His advocacy has been praised by Court of Appeal judges, including the Lady Chief Justice, and he is known for his attention to detail and expert legal knowledge.

Bill has recently been involved in two appeals against conviction arising from murder cases. In the case of W, he drafted grounds of appeal challenging legal rulings made by the trial judge. The conviction and life sentence were subsequently quashed and a retrial was ordered. W was ultimately acquitted and released.

Bill also has extensive experience in appeals against sentence and has successfully appealed sentences in a wide range of serious criminal cases, including those involving serious drug offences, homicide and serious assault.
